When properly equipped, the Cherokee can tow up to 4,500 pounds while the Compass offers up to 2,000 pounds of towing.


The new Cherokee is larger than the Compass is, offering a longer length and wheelbase and taller height. Inside the cabin, though, spaciousness is very similar, with the Cherokee offering slightly more overall interior space, but the Compass getting the nod in terms of available cargo space with up to 60 cubic feet of space compared to 54.9 cubic feet from the Cherokee.
